ABOUT OUR HOSPITAL
UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital is a 126-bed community hospital. We employ more than 800 full-and-part-time employees. Finley Hospital is a not-for-profit, locally owned, regional healthcare facility part of the UnityPoint Health system. Finley Hospital is committed to bringing the best medical care to the tri-state area. We offer comprehensive, full service health care that is coordinated around our patients. Work hours will be days, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, for 10 hours per pay period, and as needed. You will be required to flex to other shifts as needed. This position does include weekends.
The 5th floor Medical/Surgical main unit has 20 beds and an overflow area with 21 beds. We provide excellent care for primarily medical patients suffering from a wide variety of medical problems, from pneumonia to heart failure. We are looking for staff that enjoy working as a team on a busy unit.
Effectively receive and deliver unit communication - use Vocera to assign and page staff, relay information to other departments, inform charge nurse of unit activities, inform/direct visitors of policies & room locations Maintain an organized environment, keep work areas straightened and stocked, order supplies, update patient label book
Maintain patient records, enter all patient charges, check for consult orders, keep doctor notification board up to date for consults, obtain records for providers from outside facilities
Meet customer service standards
Utilize computer technology efficiently and appropriately
Comply with hospital and unit policies; comply with safety and emergency procedures
Work collaboratively with director/manager to provide the best care
Perform other duties as assigned
Must possess a High School diploma/GED. Previous clerical and/or health care experience is preferred. Must be proficient with computer/technology. Excellent customer service experience is required.
