Application Developer

University Of Wisconsin-Platteville, Platteville, WI

The University of Wisconsin - Platteville, Office of Information Technology is seeking applicants for an Application Developer - Web Technologies.  This is a full-time, 12- month position with full benefits.  This position will develop and support integrations related to the campus web site and document imaging system.  The Application Developer must be able to work in a team environment, managing multiple tasks, accept responsibility for supporting critical University systems and integrations, meet deadlines and be able to respond to ever changing business needs and technology to meet the general goals of the University.

 

  • Perform custom development within document image management system related to scripts, workflows, permissions, and actions.
  • Perform business analysis activities for assigned projects and tasks.
  • Create documentation of user specifications and other documentation as required for proposed software enhancements/modifications.
  • Manage application development projects, and use project management methodologies to track and update project statuses.
  • Create interfaces between the Document Imaging system and other systems including campus web server.
  • Develop knowledge base articles and or web pages documenting steps and processes.
  • Troubleshoot issues with current processes, patches, upgrades, and clients related to document and information systems supported by ITS.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or technology related field or 3 years relevant work experience.
  2. Technical knowledge of current web technologies.
  3. Experienced managing application development projects.
  4. Ability to create interfaces between document imaging system and other systems including web sites.
  5. Ability to diagnose and solve highly complex problems with application and web server system infrastructure.
  6. Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.
  7. Effective written and oral communication skills.
  8. Strong organizational, time management and project management skills.
  9. Shows strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of effective relationships.
  10. Ability to work some holidays, evening and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with Perceptive Content/ImageNow Document imaging system.
  2. Experience with Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 web content management systems.
  3. Project management experience in enterprise technology environment with emphasis on communication to customers and team members.
  4. Work experience with Windows and Linux server technology
  5. Work experience in a Higher Education environment.
