Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Chancellor for Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) and Chief Diversity Officer, the Campus Climate Coordinator is responsible for furthering the mission of the Campus Climate department through coordination of training development, hate/bias response, management of communication workflow, and other efforts relating to enhancing awareness, promoting inclusion and building equity.


-Develop a central information and resource hub of trainings, programs, and tools related to diversity and inclusion for all of campus.

-Develop, facilitate, and assess educational training protocols addressing key climate issues (hate response, hostile environment, bullying, cross­ cultural competency, inclusive language, ally hood, community building, building inclusion skills, etc.) across campus designed to support faculty, staff and students.

-Lead the  creation of an annual awareness and skill building calendar of events, trainings and programs for the campus community. Align programming with campus needs. Manage marketing and communication of these resources to campus.

-Be an active member in the University Bias Incident Team supporting institutional responses to incidents reported.

-Analyze hate/bias incident reports, look for environmental patterns, use this information to inform resources provided to campus. Match campus needs and concerns with proactive programming and training.

-Manage website information, materials and communication for University Bias Incident Team and Campus Climate department.

-Work collaboratively with the Assistant Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion to organize and support a variety of campus committees focused on diversity and inclusion including supporting college diversity committees, Inclusive Excellence, Student Senate Diversity Committees, MCIC conference planning committee, and other related committees.

-Lead focus groups, analyze climate survey data, and plan campus diversity forums and other events sharing strategic diversity information

-Provide leadership for Campus Climate surveys and assessments 

-Oversee the evaluation and assessment of Campus Climate sponsored trainings/programs, and help monitor office usage rates regarding services and library resources.

-Oversee Campus Climate budgets, staffing and management of resources.

-Provide support for website, social media, and marketing materials. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree

-Knowledge and experience working with diversity, equity and inclusivity in education.

-Minimum two years experience managing programming, training and/or student supports in an educational or community outreach professional capacity.

-Minimum two years working with diverse populations in an educational or community outreach professional capacity.

-Minimum of two years experience managing complex initiatives including budgeting, development of programming, marketing and assessment.


Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree
