Assistant/Associate or Full Professor of Industrial Engineering

Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, College of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering is seeking two full-time, academic year Assistant/Associate/Full Professors of Industrial Engineering.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of faculty members in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering is to teach undergraduate courses that include laboratory sections.The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in engineering education. Candidates at the associate or full professor level will assume significant leadership responsibilities for the industrial engineering program and serve as the program coordinator, including leading continuous improvement, growing the industrial engineering program, and developing industrial partnerships. Other responsibilities include conducting research and seeking extramural funding; developing curriculum; advising students and/or student organizations; participating in K-12 outreach; corporate relations; and participating in department, college, and university service committees. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

-BS and PhD degrees in industrial engineering or a closely related field.  PhD to be completed before start date

-Ability to teach human factors/work design and/or operations research/management courses

-Ability to teach foundational engineering courses

-Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

-ABET accreditation experience

-Demonstrated leadership ability and experience

-Teaching experience as the instructor of record for engineering course

-Experience teaching online, hybrid, or distance courses

-Industrial experience in manufacturing, operations, or design for human factors

-Experience in the areas of health systems, biomedical engineering, or Internet of Things (IoT)

-Experience developing new academic programs

-Professional engineering license
