The John Deere Dubuque Works is one of the key facilities in Deere & Company's Construction and Forestry (C&F) Division. The Dubuque Works manufactures backhoe loaders, crawler dozers, and skid steer loaders for the construction industry and knuckleboom loaders and tracked feller bunchers for the forestry industry. The Dubuque Works also serves as the Center of Excellence for the C&F Division in the areas of Product Engineering, Product Verification and Validation, Supply Management, and Product Support which includes the Dealer Technical Assistance Center. From a manufacturing perspective, the core competencies of the factory include plate and sheet cutting, machining, welding, paint, and assembly.
The John Deere Dubuque Works is one of the most innovative and productive facilities of its kind. From an Engineering perspective, techniques such as virtual reality and rapid concepting are used to assist in the design process. Our manufacturing facilities use state of the art techniques and equipment to produce products including CNC machining centers and a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Our Product Support teams use the latest techniques and satellite communication systems to keep the machines we make on the job, dayin and dayout. The John Deere intern experience prepares candidates for future roles in John Deere’s Equipment divisions, including our development programs. Summer 2019 Customer & Product Support interns receive varied work experiences that provide exposure to John Deere’s product lines, marketing and customer support activities, and the independent dealer organization.
- Support cross-functional meetings with quality, engineering and customer support to achieve project goals
- Assist DTAC (Dealer Technical Assistance Center) team with diagnosing technical field issues
- Support the development of process improvements for the dealer technical assistance centers
- Assisting in development of training materials & documentation
- Gain an understanding of our customers through various data sources including surveys, warranty and machine data

Skills You Need
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Ag Systems Management/ Ag Mechanization, Construction Management, Engineering, Automotive Technology, Industrial Technology/Ag Systems Technology or Agronomy
- Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and have the ability to legally rent a car
- Desired cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Minimum cumulate GPA required 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
- We have internship locations across the United States so you must be willing to relocate domestically
- Willing to travel and relocate to any John Deere location in the U.S
