Medical Associates Clinic offers several locations from which to seek medical care, including facilities at 1500 Associates Drive, 1000 Langworthy, and 1940 Elm Street in Dubuque, Iowa; as well as facilities in Bellevue, Cascade, Dyersville, Elkader, and Monona, Iowa; Cuba City, and Platteville, Wisconsin; and Elizabeth and Galena, Illinois.
The Physical Medicine Department is growing! We are seeking an LPN or RN to join the team. This role is full-benefits eligible and will work approximately 36 hours/week, primarily scheduled between 8am – 5pm. Office is open Monday- Friday. Flexibility is a must with both scheduling and working at the West Campus clinic office and East Campus for procedures.
This new addition to our team will work closely with the providers and clinical team to provide excellent patient care. Candidates should possess the ability to communicate professionally and effectively, work well in a team and on your own, take initiative and seek feedback, and is an ongoing, motivated learner.
About the Physical Medicine Department at Medical Associates:
The physician who specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is known as a physiatrist. Physiatrists diagnose, evaluate, and treat patients who have major and minor physical disabilities. The physiatrist's goal is to optimally restore physical function, relieve pain, and minimize the psychological, social, and vocational effects of disability. Physiatrists use the routine history, physical examination, and diagnostic techniques and prescribe medications, treatment modalities such as injections, heat, cold, and electrical stimulation, as well as therapeutic exercise. Physiatrist are specialists who treat the whole person rather than a single system or disease. This patient-centered specialty attracts and requires specialists who are particularly skilled in listening to and in communicating with their patients.
Provide quality professional nursing care for clinic patients following license requirements, Clinic standards of practice and within the nursing scope of practice. Assist physician/mid level providers and co-workers in coordinating and carrying out diverse patient care plans and services.
Collect pertinent patient health care data, diagnostic testing, treatments, and review medical records and confer with physician/mid level providers to ensure patient needs are met.
Collaborate with health care team according to plan of care.
Communicate effectively with patients, co workers, and others. Promote patient wellness and provide patient education.
Document care provided, including but not limited to: interventions, medication, patient education, and assist with integrity of medical record.
Demonstrate flexibility in performing other additional duties of patient care. Provide input for devising systems to improve quality and efficiency of patient care and workflow. Participate in required meetings.
Maintain an office environment that is safe, neat, organized, and supplied with necessary equipment, instruments, supplies, and educational materials. Ensure equipment is functioning safely and properly. Perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to guidelines.
Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience - From three months to one year of similar or related experience.
Education - Equivalent to a two year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification at a business or trade school.
Interpersonal Skills - A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills - Valid LPN or RN licensure required. Keyboarding skills and use of electronic equipment. Use and operate a wide variety of diagnostic and medical equipment. Use personal protection safety equipment including gloves, lab coats, gowns, goggles, and face masks/shields. BLS required biannually
