Load Planner

RT&T Enterprises Inc., East Dubuque, IL

The primary responsibility for this position will be daily execution of planning functions. This candidate will play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared towards operational excellence.


  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence
  • Daily execution of planning functions
    • Movement of loads and truck dispatch
  • Daily Communication and interaction with Driver Fleet
  • Load entry
  • Backing up when Planners are absent
  • Backing up when Driver managers are absent
  • Payroll and Settlement management executed in TMS
    • Extra Driver Pay – Negotiations to attain service
    • Lumpers
    • Detention
  • Ensure that Sales and Customer Service requests are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal parties
  • Maximize Rate Per Mile while Minimizing Empty Miles
  • Manage Driver Hours
  • Manage Driver time of requests
  • Must be comfortable talking to Brokers and booking Backhauls
  • Play a significant role in long-term retention efforts, including and initiative geared toward driver revenue and profitability.



  • Commitment to the transportation industry
  • Experience in Fleet Operations – Dispatch and Planning
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, and outlook
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Current knowledge of FMSCA rules and regulations
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view
  • Persuasive with details and facts
  • High comfort level working in a diverse environment
