Requirements

CMA:

  • Must be a graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program
  • 1 to 2 years' experience in a clinic or hospital setting preferred
  • Knowledge of basic office procedures, equipment, and computer systems preferred
  • Certification as a CMA through AAMA within 3 months of hire
  • BLS certification required or able to complete immediately after hire

LPN:

  • Requries a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with completed licensure requirements of the state of Wisconsin for an LPN
  • Legal eligibility to practice as an LPN in the State of Wisconsin
  • Must have an understanding of the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act
  • Minimum 1 year LPN experience in a clinic setting preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Referral Advocate:

  • Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years' experience in a clinic or hospital setting is required
  • Graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant prgram preferred
  • Knowledge of basic office procedures, equipment, and computer systems preferred
  • Familiarization with medical terminiology desired
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is desired

Work Hours

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN to work part-time (24 hours/week) in the Orthopedic Institute and part-time (16 hours/week) as a Referral Advocate in the Platteville Clinic (40 hours/week total).

*Retention Bonus for CMA's hired into positions working 20 hours per week or greater!

Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant or LPN will assist with various patient duties including; assessing patient needs, answering questions, providing patient care; rooming patients, taking vitals and histories, giving injections, assisting with phone triage under the direct supervision of a RN or provider, assisting with procedures, administering medications, patient education and other duties as assigned.

The Referral Advocate will also assist with various patient duties including: answering questions, providing empathy, assisting with clinic responsibilities, taking histories, obtaining prior authorization on high-end radiology, referrals, and surgeries as needed for the Platteville, Cuba City, Orthopedics, General Surgery, and Women's Health Clinics, educating patients regarding procedures and referrals, and other duties assigned by the clinical manager.
