Tri-State Dialysis is seeking one (1) Registered Nurse to work in the Dubuque and Manchester outpatient dialysis centers. Individuals will work three (3) twelve (12) hour shifts per week including every other Saturday (Dubuque unit) plus the ability to take call. Dialysis experience NOT required. On-the-job training provided.
Duties include but not limited to: Performing clinical procedures including needle insertion in accordance with established procedures and standards of care. Documenting each treatment appropriately to include: double checks, lab draws, medications given, patient assessment and condition of access, vital signs at current established time intervals, initiation and termination of treatment, condition of dialyzer at end of treatment, and patient discharge summary following each patient dialysis treatment. Keeping patients and dialysis equipment under constant observation during treatment. Evaluating patients through out and properly operating equipment.
Experience: Minimum of one year professional nursing experience in an area of medical/surgical, chronic illness, critical care or community health preferred.
Education: Registered Nurse.
Requirements: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an active license to practice in the state employed (Iowa/Wisconsin). Have and maintain current certification of BLS. Maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Environmental/Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a dialysis environment.
Physical/Mental Requirements: Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours.
About: Tri-State Dialysis is open 6 days a week, Monday-Saturday with patients starting treatments at 6:00am. The dialysis team is comprised of RN’s, LPN’s, Social Workers, Dietitians, and Patient Care Technicians. Individuals work together to provide the best possible care to our patients.
