Our Dyersville Tri-State Occupational Health clinic is seeking an outgoing, self-motivated, responsible LPN/RN to provide professional occupational health services to our employer clients, their employees, and clinic patients.

Ideal candidates possess strong communication skills and enjoy working both independently in a team to provide occupational health services for our clients in and around Dyersville. Training provided to candidates eager to learn new skills--certification in audiometry and spirometry will be obtained within 1 year of hire.

HOURS/SCHEDULE: This is a full time, 30-40 hours per week position that is full-benefits eligible with a varying schedule from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Flexibility with schedule and some travel are required for this position in and around Dyersville and Dubuque.

Core duties of the position include, but are not limited to, performing audiograms, pulmonary function testing, respirator fit testing, drug and alcohol collections, administration of immunizations, coordination of scheduling of occupational health services, care coordination of work comp treatment, some client relations and marketing of services.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

50%  Establish a system for organizing, scheduling, directing and providing occupational health services. Competently perform all services offered and needed while adhering to best practice standards and OSHA/NIOSH regulations and guidelines. Perform drug and alcohol collections for a wide array of clients and assess and assist with maintaining client profiles and necessary supplies for services. Provide onsite supervisory training in drug and alcohol testing as well as necessary training for staff.

20%  Review documentation and monitor release of information to facilitate conformity to government legislation, industrial and OSHA standards as it relates to the services required. Maintain knowledge of workers’ compensation laws as it related to specific occupational health program/surveillance needs and demonstrate competency in state and deferral regulations.

15%  Perform care coordination duties for Mercy Medical Center Dyersville and Dyersville Family Practice as needed/directed.

10%  Complete all other assigned projects and duties as assigned, including but not limited to, client relations and retention, Drug and Alcohol Supervisory Training and marketing of services. Meet with clients to maintain relationships and continually assess needs. Provide clients with new regulatory information and services to assist with cost reduction and provide resources in consultation and training as needed. Resolve or direct resolution of client issues within the TSOH organization with assistance of clinical supervisor, business office manager and director.

5% Other projects and duties as assigned


Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience preferred.

Education: Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification at a business or trade school.

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

Other Skills: Valid LPN/RN license. Ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment and work independently with limited direction, strong time management skills. Good computer skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
