Oversee and manage the laboratory and quality department. Ensure quality production consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for providing quality assurance support to the operations department.
Provides leadership, direction, and guidance for the Quality Department and plant personnel by understanding regulatory, customer and internal Saputo quality requirements.
Oversees all Quality Assurance systems to include, Process Evaluation and Product Protection Programs, Process Specifications and Standards, CIP Programs and Verifications, HACCP, GMP’s, Product Labeling Compliance, and Product Storage and Distribution.
Oversees the management of all quality training to include GMP, HACCP, Allergen, etc.
Responsible for leading and managing the Belmont Quality Department and all related job functions. Develops teamwork and cross-functionality.
Resolves employee issues and concerns or engages the Plant Manager and/or Human Resources to assist in unsettled issues.
Serves as the SQF expert for the facility. Maintains overall responsibility for adherence to current SQF guidelines and requirements and SQF audit corrective actions.
Reviews and provides SQF updates to personnel responsible for maintaining raw material specification and certificate of analysis documentation.
Monitors quality control systems to optimize detection or failures in the manufacturing process to include Hold Programs and Rock Recalls, Lab Proficiency and Procedures, Product Testing and Review, Product Functionality Evaluation, Process Verification Programs, Internal and External Audits, Environment Microbiological Monitoring Programs, and Supplier complaints.
Responsible for ensuring Food Safety and Quality standards are met within the Belmont, WI facility
Leads quality and efficiency problem-solving efforts through the facilitation of team meetings and on-the-floor leadership to effectively influence positive change and continuous improvement.
Communicates frequently with the corporate QA Team to remain proactive in satisfying customer requirements.
Demonstrates initiative and strong interpersonal, communication, and team skills.
Demonstrates safe and quality conscious work habits and follows all company policies and procedures.
Ability to effectively supervise, direct and work with people and develop teamwork.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Focuses on Saputo’s vision and goals and considers the best interest of Saputo and its employees, customers, and patrons while performing job duties.

Employees are responsible for understanding and complying with the Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety guidelines to ensure that quality food products are manufactured in a sanitary production environment and delivered with superior protection to our customers and consumers.
Supports Saputo’s commitment to preserve the environment by following all established policies and procedures related to such preservation. Reports any identified concerns regarding potential hazards to the environment.
Available to work flexible shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays as required.
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (i.e. FDA, USDA, Drug Residue, etc.)
Strong understanding of Plant QA Systems (HACCP, Weight Control, etc.)

Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Manufacturing, Dairy Science, Food Science or a related field and five or more years of supervisory experience in the dairy industry or equivalent quality and supervisory experience in the dairy industry.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, plant employees, customers, regulatory agencies and auditors.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheet, Power Point and manufacturing and database software.
