Diversity and Inclusion Assessment Coordinator

The Diversity and Inclusion Assessment Coordinator will conduct assessment and research projects relevant to the work of the Division of Diversity and Inclusion. This position will work collaboratively with staff inside and outside of the division to design the projects, collect and analyze the data, and interpret and share the results. The coordinator will primarily focus on supporting the Departments of Campus Climate, Wright Center for Veterans and Non-Traditional Students, Student Support Services & Services for Students with Disabilities, Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, Doyle Center for Gender and Sexuality, and International Programs and serve as a data liaison to the Chief Diversity Officer under the supervision of the Director of Assessment and Strategic Initiatives. The analyst, in close consultation with the director and others, will provide critical university information to internal and external audiences.

This is a full-time, academic staff, project position, through June 30, 2020, with potential for permanent employment status at the end of the term.

Responsibilities

  • Design and administer assessment and research projects as appropriate based on division and department priorities
  • Write and update reports for use by the division and campus community, including analyzing/interpreting data and working collaboratively with campus partners.
  • Provide reliable, relevant, and accurate data and information to facilitate planning, budgeting, program evaluation, and development of policy decisions, including adhering to good practice and ethical standards in the management and use of data
  • Complete assigned projects with accuracy adhering to project deadlines
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of assessment and reporting platforms, such as Baseline, Planning, or EAB’s Navigate platform
  • Participate in regular professional development related to job functions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, mathematics or statistics.
  • 1-3 years’ full-time experience where working with assessment or research data was a component of the position.
  • Knowledge in assessment of equity gaps, current approaches to assessing diversity, equity, and inclusion measures in higher education and experience supporting diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, including learning new technologies and incorporating them into ongoing work.
  • Ability to work effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience providing professional development.
  • Experience with data visualization software, such as Tableau.
  • Experience in the use of a statistical software, such as SPSS, STATA, or R.
  • Additional reading and writing skills in Spanish.
