Program Manager for Graduate and Collaborative Programs

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is hiring a full-time, 12-month academic staff member to work as a Program Manager for Graduate and Collaborative Programs with the Division of Professional Studies (Division). This position manage projects and initiatives for the Division including oversight of collaborative program partnerships and the School of Graduate Studies. Duties include project management, meeting facilitation, serving as the liaison with UW Extended Campus for collaborative programs, assessment, grant administration, and assisting with the administration of the School of Graduate Studies. This position is physically located on the UW-Platteville campus in Platteville, Wisconsin. The position is an annual appointment beginning June 3, 2019. The work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The annual salary is $48,000-51,000, commensurate with qualifications and/or experience. Provide leadership and planning functions for various special initiatives and projects. Responsibilities: Develop and document processes, procedures, and policies for special initiatives. Develop and manage communications to update all constituents (both internal and external) involved with a special initiative/project. Develop, organize, and manage timelines associated with the initiatives. Identify and organize staff training necessary to complete the initiatives and projects. Assist with team-building and conflict resolution tasks. Prepare final reports and recommendations for improvements on projects. Serve as the liaison with UW Extended Campus for collaborative programs. Serve as a liaison with academic directors, the Division, and UW Extended Campus to ensure the faculty, advising, and marketing obligations of the collaborative programs are met. Oversee budget for all collaborative programs and ensure payments to faculty and programs are occurring as needed. Train new academic directors upon program approval on the Division policies, procedures, and other items associated with collaborative programs such as admissions process, faculty approval process, budget, and more. Host quarterly meetings with all academic directors to share knowledge about the program. Serve as the program manager for graduate programs. Oversee the budget for the School of Graduate Studies. Maintain and grow relationships with various stakeholders throughout the colleges to grow visibility and understanding of graduate programs at the university and external constituents and prospects. Develop a communication strategy, including the website and social media, to ensure all internal stakeholders (administration, faculty, staff, and students) and external constituents have the information they need when they need it. Committee service and other duties. Participates on and chairs committees within the Division and across campus. Work with assessments, research, and grant writing. Qualifications: Required: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. 2-3 years of professional work experience in higher education, project management, or online learning. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting corresponding deadlines. Experience developing and overseeing budgets. Knowledge of graduate studies programs and administration. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Preferred: Master’s degree in Education or Project Management. Experience working, teaching, and/or learning in a distance education environment. Experience working with grants and grants budgets.
