MedOne is looking to hire a Clinical Programs Coordinator with excellent organizational and administrative skills. The Clinical Programs Coordinator is expected to be a decisive leader with superb time management and record keeping skills. To ensure success, the Clinical Programs Coordinator should be confident and professional with fantastic communication and IT skills that will contribute to the efficient day-to-day activities of MedOne Clinical Services. Top candidates will work comfortably under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support operations of MedOne Clinical Services
  • Support in the administration and management of MedOne clinical programs
  • Evaluate program performance and prepare required reports
  • Contribute to the creation of innovative clinical programs
  • Initiate Prior Authorization requests
  • Review incoming Prior Authorization documentation for completeness
  • Prepare clinical review documentation for evaluation by MedOne Clinical Pharmacists
  • Communicate clinical review decisions to pharmacies and providers
  • File completed Prior Authorization documentation
  • Enter Clinical Review determination into the claims processing system(s)
  • Communicate the status of Clinical Reviews with patients
  • Schedule Clinical Review Denial Calls with a Clinical Pharmacist
  • Update Clinical Authorization Criteria and Clinical Review Request Forms under the direction of a Clinical Pharmacist
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Supports operations of MedOne Pharmacy Services as needed
  • Assists and supports members of MedOne Pharmacy Benefit Solutions
  • Portrays the company in a positive image
  • Required to abide by all rules, regulations and policies of the employer

Work Hours

  • Full-Time (greater than 30 hours/week), non-exempt


  • Must be registered with the state/Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician/Trainee within 30 days of accepting employment
  • Employee must be in good standing with the state board
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills
  • Must be detail oriented, able to work independently, meets deadlines, establish priorities, and be flexible
  • Ability to work cooperatively with MedOne Pharmacy Services and Pharmacy Benefits staff
  • Must be able to stand/sit for long periods of time within limited space
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds


Required Licenses or Certifications

  • Applicable state registration
  • Pharmacy Technician National Certification (within 1 year of hire)
  • Pharmacy Technician State Registration (within 1 year of hire)


Continuing Education Requirements

  • As needed for required certifications and licenses
  • Twenty hours (one hour must be regarding law) of CE must be completed every two years for certification renewal
