About the Program

Hillcrest Professional Health Clinic provides the tristate area with a wide range of health care services. These include:

  • Primary health care services
  • Pediatric heath care services
  • Reproductive health services for youth, women, and men
  • Breast and cervical cancer screening
  • Infection checks and treatment
  • HIV testing
  • Birth control and reproductive health education
  • Pregnancy testing and counseling
  • Emergency Contraception
  • Sports physicals
  • Pre-employment physicals
  • Immunizations
  • TB testing

Our staff members are active community educators and offer many individual, school and community education opportunities on subjects including:

  • Birth control options
  • Natural family planning
  • Abstinence
  • Sexual Health
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Reproductive Coercion
  • HIV/STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection)
  • Videos, books, and informational pamphlets are available upon request

Your Responsibilities

As a LPN/RN, your primary responsibilities include providing clinical, educational and clerical support services in the Health Clinic. In addition, you will

  • Serving as a primary worker for clients
  • Teaching necessary problem solving and independent living skills
  • Documenting significant information in each file in a clear and timely matter
  • Administering and documents medications
  • Arranging for coverage on the floor when staff calls off
  • Knowing agency's policy and procedures in case of emergencies

What you need

  • Graduate from an accredited LPN, RN or BSN program
  • Licensed in the state of Iowa
  • Proficient in interviewing skills and in client lab testing.
  • Ability to document nursing assessment and interventions in patient records
