Mercy Medical Center is a not for profit Catholic hospital serving the tri-state area of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin since 1879. Mercy – Dubuque has 263 beds while Mercy – Dyersville is a critical access hospital with 25 beds and a 40-bed nursing home.
Mercy offers a full range of acute care services, including invasive cardiology and open-heart surgery, Level II trauma center, Level II regional neonatal intensive care unit, general and orthopaedic surgery, psychiatric services and inpatient physical rehabilitation. Under limited supervision, receives the day to day inquires for health information often involving complex and confidentiality issues, screens telephone inquiries and handles appropriately or routes to appropriate staff. Receives and distributes all incoming and outgoing mail, correspondences. Prepares suspension notices to the medical staff assuring complete accuracy in the notices and maintains tracking of notices and follow-up telephone calls. Confers with parents, physicians, and other necessary staff in preparing the necessary information for registering vital birth record information.
High School Graduate. Previous office experience, preferred with a health information background. Strong organizational skills, previous telephone reception experience desired.
