About the Program
The Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) aims to provide a comprehensive range of mental health and substance-use disorder services, with an emphasis on helping vulnerable individuals. These services include:
- Crisis mental health services
- Outpatient mental health and substance-use services
- Screening, assessment, and diagnosis
- Patient-centered treatment planning
This program will benefit uninsured, underinsured, and underserved residents in Dubuque and Jackson counties, by offering multiple services in a single location and creating a more accessible and seamless environment for clients. The clinics goal is to remove barriers and improve access to care and reduce wait times to give our clients quicker access to services.
Your Responsibilities
As an Intake Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating therapeutic client intake services for the clients of the clinic. Additional responsibilities include:
- Speaking with individuals to get their personal (medical, mental or legal) history and ascertaining their mental and physical state
- Using the gathered information to guide them to the right service, department or office
- Coordinating schedules and appointments
- Obtaining insurance or billing information
- Processing paperwork
- Ensuring forms have the proper signatures and that they are filled out correctly
- Following up with clients and sharing vital information
- Other administrative duties as assigned
What You Need
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling
- Full professional license (LMHC or LMFT)
- Experience working with adults with brain health disorders
- Knowledge of the theories and techniques of therapy in the clinical setting in the provision of ongoing services to individuals and families.
- Excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position
