Your Responsibilities
As an Admissions/Utilization Management Specialist, your primary responsibility is to coordinate the intake process for all residential programs and to provide utilization management recommendations and feedback for budgeting and workflow purposes. In addition, you will:
- Immediately and effectively handle all verbal and written inquiries regarding admission to Hillcrest's residential programs
- Screen all referrals for initial appropriateness
- Act as the intermediary between Hillcrest staff and the referring worker on any questions regarding the candidate for admission or the need for additional information or testing
- Collect all pertinent available information on the client, including current psychological evaluations, psychiatric evaluations, medical history, and school reports if applicable/ available and distributes these material to the assigned internal social worker/counselor
- Review all authorizations, agency wide, for residential clients to ensure that the client is accessing the units they have been afforded
- Secure the funding authorizations from all potential funders for the client and all of the needed releases of information and consent for treatment from the client and/or guardian.
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Thorough understanding and appreciation for the interdisciplinary nature of treatment for children and adults with mental illness
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally to clients, staff, families, referring entities, MCO’s, and other professionals
- Proficient in the use of an Electronic Health Record system
- Knowledge of the funding streams used in all residential programs
What Makes You Stand Out
- Bachelor's degree in a social services related field, including social work, sociology, psychology, or nursing
- Knowledge or previous experience with admissions/intake processes, scheduling, and utilization management best practices
- Valid driver's license and the ability to meet agency driver guidelines
