Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Neurodiagnostic Services Clinical Coordinator/V.P Professional and Support Services, and under general direction of the medical director (MD), performs standard and complex polysomnographic recordings and multiple sleep latency testing; scores and documents data, assesses, applies and titrates CPAP or BiPAP.   Provides direct patient education. 

 

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Must be credentialed as CRT, RRT, REEGT, or BRPT or Must be registered in sleep technology or accepted to sit for the registry examination through one of the following organizations:  ABSM, NBR, BRPT, AASM.

Must become Registered within two years of hire.

Non-registered must be enrolled in or completed the A_STEP Online Self Study Modules or CAAHEP accredited sleep technology.

Must participate in an average of 10 hours per year of CEC sleep related education activities over a 3 year period.

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required.

At least one year of prior experience in administering and scoring polysomnographies or in clinical respiratory care strongly preferred.

Demonstrated experience and competency with Microsoft Office suite, e-mail and a variety of web-based programs and browsers, with the willingness and ability to update and increase skills as needed to meet the goals of the departments.
