Tri-State Surgery Center is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse to join their team!
Company Overview:
Tri-State Surgery Center, jointly owned and operated by Medical Associates Clinic and MercyOne Medical Center, is the region's first freestanding facility devoted exclusively to outpatient surgery.
The Center consists of three operating rooms and two special procedure rooms and provides a variety of outpatient procedures for patients of all ages. Areas of specialties include ophthalmology, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, gynecology, podiatry, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, and general surgeries not requiring overnight stays. An estimated 5,000 procedures can be performed annually at the Tri-State Surgery Center.
Position Overview:
As a Peri-Operative Nurse, you will provide quality, professional nursing care for clinic patients following licensure requirements, Standards of practice and within the nursing scope of practice. You must be an energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and be able to positively relate with others in a fast paced environment.
Schedule: Mon-Fri primarily between 5:45am-6:00pm, flexibility required.
Operating Room Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare operating room and supplies for procedures
- Provide care for patients during operative period
- Assist anesthesia providers, surgeons, and surgical staff during procedures
- Provide care to both pediatric and adult patients in a multi-specialty surgery center
Essential Functions:
- Conduct systematic assessments of patient status, initiate critical decision-making processes and implement ongoing evaluations of plan of care.
- Perform nursing care for the patient in the immediate intra-operative period, assessing and documenting the patient’s status during the procedure.
- Provide nursing care to meet patient needs related to the surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered, monitoring the patient and informing the surgeon and/or anesthesia provider of any observed complications.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team based on evidenced-based guidelines to direct/perform independent nursing triage and intervention using critical thinking skills and provide emergency care as needed according to department protocols.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience/Education:
- RN License
- ACLS and PALS certification. May complete upon hire.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, leadership, physicians, anesthesia, patients and visitors.
