Job Description: Clarke University seeks a 10-month (August – May) Compass Experience Coordinator to create and plan experiences that support students and fulfill graduation requirements. Whereas other institutions offer “general education,” Clarke offers “the Clarke Compass” – an integrated experience that involves experiential and course-based learning. The next Compass Experience Coordinator will develop, implement, and manage experiences that meet Clarke Compass criteria. This includes working with business and community members to create experiences, meeting with students, promoting Compass to internal and external audiences, and monitoring student progress.
Specific duties include: collaborating and communicating (verbally and in writing) with faculty, staff, students, and business/community members about the Clarke Compass; creating and planning student experiences in the Clarke and Dubuque communities; helping to coordinate and keep records for study abroad; coordinating and offering workshops related to the Clarke Compass; gathering data and producing reports; and performing other duties as assigned.
The successful Coordinator will be outgoing and energetic and skilled in quickly developing relationships with others and determining what is needed for student and programmatic success. The Coordinator will function with minimal supervision. Note: This position may require some evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Experience in higher education in academics or student engagement is preferred. A high degree of computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office, databases, and web-based software is a plus. Outstanding communication, time management and organization skills with careful attention to detail and the ability to multitask are required.Visit our web site at www.clarke.edu to view additional Clarke information.
