Human Resource Specialist

As a Human Resource Specialist, you will serve Human Resources, acting in an auxiliary role in support of all functions within the department.

Essential Duties:  Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
  • Provide “backup” support for Payroll and Benefits Administrators
  • Conduct Onboardings and Orientations on request
  • Serve as internal HR systems and processes training lead
  • Assist with creating HR training content for HR and Leadership teams
  • Process unemployment claims
  • With HR Manager, ensure legal compliance and consistency in all fields related to employment law
  • Conduct research and utilize best practices in human resource related issues
  • Maintain confidentiality and instill trust within the organization
  • Be available to work with employees across different shifts
  • Occasional travel required
  • Work toward continuous improvement
  • Stay current with changing technology
  • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures

Reporting to this position:  No direct reports

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, the Human Resource Specialist must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Tools)
  • College degree in Business and/or Human Resources
  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Experience working with Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS)
  • Two or more years of human resource experience
  • Previous management experience
