Job Overview
IT SPECIALIST
SALARY: 40-60K DIRECT HIRE POSITION!
Primary Purpose: To proactively support the technology needs, both on site and off.
Primary Responsibility: Perform support, upgrade, application deployment, setup, and system administration tasks necessary to assure maximum productivity of team members and execute the technology plan, as guided by the Director of Technology.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Responsible for end user desktop support for up to 100 windows users.
- Diagnose hardware and software problems, replace defective components and/or coordinate warranty replacement.
- Maintain and administer computer network and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures.
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in to protect software, hardware, and data integrity.
- Analyze equipment performance records to determine the need for repair or replacement.
- Attends training to continually update knowledge and supports company improvement.
- Assists with any other tasks as required by the Director of Technology.
Experience:
Required
- Experience supporting Windows 7, 8, or 10 operating systems.
- Support of Microsoft Office suite including O365.
- Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory including Azure.
- Windows server 2008 or greater hands-on experience.
- VmWare Vsphere 6 or greater.
- Veeam Back 10 or greater.
Preferred
- Terminal Services.
- Backup management experience.
- Website maintenance experience.
- Microsoft SQL experience.
- Cisco Meraki experience.
- Ubiquiti Unifi device management experience.
- VPN experience, both PPTP for end users, and in a routed Wan environment.
Education:
Required
- Minimum two years of experience in desktop user support.
- Minimum Associates degree in system administration or equivalent.
Preferred
- Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
- Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Cisco and Microsoft.
- Four to six years system administration experience.
