Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a Lead Custodian.  The University of Dubuque offers a competitive wage and an excellent benefits package including tuition remission, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a retirement match.

 

Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 3:00pm-11:30pm

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the direction of custodians and supervise student workers
  • Maintain cleanliness of campus buildings
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
  • Dust
  • Wash walls and windows
  • Empty trash
  • Assist with Event set-up
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s Mission

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time
  • Previous experience operating floor and carpet machines
  • Ability to climb a 12’ ladder
  • Minimum of high school or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Previous supervising experience is preferred
