Job Overview

As a Benefits Administrator, you are responsible for coordinating the onboarding of new hires and managing company benefit plans.
 
Essential Duties:  Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
  • Coordinate daily benefit processing:  enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, disability, accident and death claims, etc.
  • Maintain employee benefit files and update employee payroll records
  • Assist in developing communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s benefits package
  • Distribute materials for benefits orientations, summary plan descriptions, etc.
  • Manage FMLA/ADA process as warranted
  • Assist in coordinating employee background checks and drug screenings
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of new hire paperwork
  • Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing
  • Communicate with employees through e-mail, phone and face-to-face correspondence
  • Occasional travel required
  • Work toward continuous improvement
  • Stay current with changing technology
  • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
 
Reporting to this position:  No direct reports
 
Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, the Benefits Administrator must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill and ability required.
 
Education/Experience:
Required:
  • High School Diploma, GED or continuing education
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Tools)
  • Previous customer service experience
Preferred:
  • College degree in Business and/or Human Resources
  • Previous benefits administration or human resource experience
  • Previous management experience
  • PHR or SPHR certification
