About the Program
The Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) aims to provide a comprehensive range of mental health and substance-use disorder services, with an emphasis on helping vulnerable individuals. These services include:
- Crisis mental health services
- Outpatient mental health and substance-use services
- Screening, assessment, and diagnosis
- Patient-centered treatment planning
This program will benefit uninsured, under-insured, and under-served residents in Dubuque and Jackson counties, by offering multiple services and creating a more accessible and seamless environment for clients. Our goal is to remove barriers and improve access to care and reduce wait times to give our clients quicker access to services.
Your Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, develop, coordinate and provide treatment to clients with severe and persistent brain health issues. Responsibilities will also include:
- Providing general nursing care to clients
- Monitoring and tracking patients’ vital signs
- Educating patients about medical and psychiatric conditions, as well as medications, either face-to-face or over the phone
- Administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
- Uses EHR to document patient information, including all information pertinent to achieve MIPS requirements
- Collaborating with other professionals involved with clients, when appropriate
*This full time position is scheduled to work three (3) 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends.
What You Need
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
- RN with current Iowa licensure in good standing pursuant to 655-Chapter 3
- Prior experience working with persons with severe and persistent brain health issues
- Knowledge on psychotropic medications, DSM-IV diagnosis, and co-occurring disorders
- Proficiency in time management and EHR documentation
- Demonstration of a professional commitment to providing services to medically underserved individuals
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position
