Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking an Admission Counselor in the Office of Admission. Primary Responsibilities:
- Represent the University both on and off campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process
- Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories, including travel to local, regional and other countries as assigned
- Counsel prospective applicants on the admission process and opportunities at the University
- Review applications, essays and other materials submitted by applicants for the purposes of making Admission decisions
- Coordinate and contribute to the success of various student visit programs designed to recruit targeted prospective applicants to the University
- Accomplish defined goals in an intensive work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s Mission
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field is required
- Previous recruiting and/or sales/marketing experience with prospecting and closing skills
- Ability to travel as well as load and transport admission materials, displays and other equipment; valid driver’s license is required
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to establish/maintain appropriate and effective communication and interpersonal relations throughout the campus, college, and the local community
- Prior experience working in a college admission environment is preferred
- Ability to work events which may include walking distances, stairs and standing for long periods of time
