About the Program
The Residential Care Facility (RCF) is a residential facility for adults who have a mental health diagnosis, that provides supervision in a safe, secure, and protected environment. The RCF offers the following services:
- 24 hour staffing and supervision
- Mental health support
- Medication management
- Social and community integration
- Physical and emotional health development
- Daily living skills education
Your Responsibilities
As a Nurse (RN or LPN), you will collaborate with members of the Residential Care Facility's nursing and administration team as well as with physicians/ARNP's. In addition, you will:
- Administer medications and document in the MAR
- Complete documentation within the client record
- Supervise medication aides with medication administration
- Assess residents for changes in medical/mental status in accordance with IBON and P&P. Follows up on medical/mental health concerns appropriately. Follow all steps in policy books when situations arise for same. Follows all joint commission, state, and HFS standards.
- Obtain vitals and lab specimens as ordered and complete treatments for clients
- Prepare and send paperwork for client appointments, LOAs, transfers, etc., as needed
- Communicate client care needs through shift report and make appointments, as necessary
- Assist with admission and discharge of clients and complete appropriate documentation
*We are hiring for all shifts: 1st Shift (7am-3pm), 2nd Shift (3pm-11pm), and 3rd Shift (11pm-7am).
What You Need
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current Iowa licensure in good standing pursuant to 655-Chapter 3
- At least one (1) year of prior experience working with persons with mental illness and other clients typically served at a Community Mental Health Center
- Knowledge on psychotropic medications, DSM-IV diagnosis, and co-occurring disorders
- Proficiency in time management and EHR documentation
- Demonstration of a professional commitment to providing services to medically underserved individuals
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position
